Scarborough is a very large community in the east end of the city of Toronto. There are many interesting landmarks, parks and structures to be touted in this area.
It is one of the most diverse and multicultural areas in the GTA with many newcomers drawn to Scarborough. It includes a number of natural landmarks, including the Toronto Zoo, Rouge National Urban Park and the Scarborough Bluffs. It is also home to the R.C. Harris Filtration Plant situated at the southwest boundary of the City – an Art Deco architectural gem!
All housing types are found in Scarborough, ranging from the traditional housing forms found in the extension of Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood along Kingston Rd, to new subdivisions with detached and semi-detached home, townhouses, and both low-rise and high-rise condominiums. Scarborough house prices are generally lower than in other parts of the amalgamated city, although they are catching up. This is one of the very appealing draws to Scarborough. It is diverse in many ways.
The extension of the Bloor-Danforth subway, currently underway, will see three new subway stations serving Scarborough. This is another very big draw to the area residents. Enhanced transportation and ease of transportation all play a part in its appeal.

Here is a story for you. A couple living in Durham were empty nesters living in a huge 3000 sf home with loads of work on the inside and outside. They wanted to move and only wanted to consider condo living. We were able to find them a fantastic 1100 sf 2 bedroom and den unit with 2 parking spots and 2 lockers in the Scarborough Town Centre area in a well-maintained older building with reasonable condo fees and a view to die for! They set their dining table along the large picture window so that each night they dined overlooking the city while enjoying that amazing view. They had the best table in the house! They felt they may stay a couple of years and then look for a bungalow but so far the plans to move are not a go! They love condo living!
